Launched in January 2011, IntoNow has built a platform and companion TV application based on real time indexing of television that deepens the connections between audiences, television content and advertisers. IntoNow has indexed more than five years of US based television programming, creating a rich database to build video discovery and programming experiences. IntoNow is able to identify content down to the airing, episode and time within the program as well as provide program information and links associated with it, all within a matter of seconds.

∞ Yahoo News Head Moves to Disney.com

Yesterday, BoomTown reported that Mark Walker, the head of the powerful Yahoo News site, was leaving the Internet giant for another company.

That company, sources said, will be Disney, where Walker will be leading a major overhaul of its flagship Disney.com site.

The property, which has largely been a promotional and aggregation play for Disney’s many family-oriented offerings–such as its popular Disney Channel cable television shows–still sees 20 million unique visitors monthly.

Walker will report to Jimmy Pitaro, the former Yahoo media head who is now co-president of Disney’s online division with John Pleasants. Walker worked directly for Pitaro at Yahoo.

∞ Sync Yahoo calendar with Evolution in Ubuntu

Yahoo calendar uses the CalDAV protocol which is supported out of the box in Evolution. Thus setting it up is a cinch.

Open Evolution and go to New > Calendar

Select ‘CalDAV’ as calendar type.

Give the calendar a name – this can be anything you like

In the URL section enter https://caldav.calendar.yahoo.com

Username is your Yahoo! account username (including @yahoo.com)

Once filled in click ‘Browse Server for a calender’

Choose the one you want and then click ‘OK’.

Now your chosen calendar should show up in the calendar section. Note that manual refresh doesn’t work but that the ‘next time you bring Evolution up your events are there.’
